How Effective?

(1) Injuries:
Acute injuries such as Muscle (tendon) sprain, soft tissue contusion:  Oftentimes,  the pain can be significantly reduced right after treatment. The same is true for the redness and swelling. Even for the cases where the pain and swelling have persisted for more than a week during other treatment, the above immediate effects still can be achieved. ( see case studies and patient comments)

Bone Fracture: Chinese herbs, either intake or external application, can increase new bone formation by about 25 %, so the bone fracture patients, especially when the healing is delayed or the patients have osteoporosis at the same time, can be benefited from Chinese herbs. It takes 1-3 months for the bone effect to be seen  under X-ray or MRI, but the reduction of the pain and soft tissue swelling can be achieved much sooner.( see case studies  and patient comments ). Acupuncture can also promote new bone formation beside pain and swelling reduction.

Chronic Injuries: More than 90 % of cases have good response to the treatment. Generally, immediate relief can be obtained after the first treatment. This kind of injury is due to accumulation of repeated mictoinjuries ( strain or sprain of muscles or tendons). The pain comes and goes in a long period of time from months to years. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can initiate the healing process by improving Qi and blood circulation, increasing DNA polymerase level ( promoting healing process ) , and the level of S.O.D.(superoxidant dismutase). This enzyme can reduce the supper oxidation, which is considered to be responsible for tissue damage, aging, arteriosclerosis, cataract, and so on.  In addition, acupuncture and Chinese herbs can increase the pain threshold and relax the muscle spasm, as well.

(2) Pain Problems:
Almost all kinds of pain can be stopped or reduced by acupuncture but the duration of the effect varies greatly depending on the condition that causes the pain.

Pain due to spasm of stomach, bowels, or muscles
generally respond to acupuncture very well, The pain can be stopped quickly and will not come back if the condition causing the pain has been corrected. .

Arthritis:
Herb application plus acupuncture work well for this condition. The pain can be stopped or greatly reduced after one treatment even in the acute stage. The joint swelling and the redness can be reduced at the same time.

Osteoarthritis is a chronic condition in which the joint cartilage is degenerated. Acupuncture and herb (applied to skin or intake) can reduce the pain, slow down the degeneration process. The effect is shown by lab research as well as clinical experience to be better than pain pills.

Sciatica:
The severity of the pain varies from very mild to severe. Even the severe pain can be stopped by acupuncture right after the needles are inserted but after the treatment the effect may not last long in severe cases. So herb intake is needed to improve the nerve condition.

Migraine: The pain can be relieved at 95% effective rate after about 8 times of acupuncture treatments.

Neck, Shoulder and Back Pain: Generally the pain relieved after the first acupuncture and herb application. The effect can last one to several days depending on the condition. A longer-term relief can be achieved after repeated treatments.

(3) Other Conditions:

Chronic Fatigue, Depression, and Anxiety:
In most cases the symptoms can be relieved after one session of acupuncture treatment. Several treatments are needed for a stable effect. Also, the effect can be strengthened when acupuncture is combined with herb intake.

High Blood Cholesterol and triglyceride both can be significantly lowered down by Chinese herb intake, which is especially good if the patient can not tolerate the side effects of other medications.

Cough is generally a symptom of bronchitis acute or chronic. It can be controlled effectively  by herb intake.

Allergy
is manifested by sneeze, nose congestion, running nose and /or cough etc. This condition can be controlled effectively with acupuncture and herbs. Herb intake is needed between the episodes or during the season to prevent or reduce the recurrence.

Heartburn is an unspecific symptom which can be related with too much acid in stomach or gastritis or gastroduadenal ulcer. The symptom can he quickly relieved with herb intake. Acupuncture is very good for promoting the ulcer healing.

Impotence: Both acupuncture and herb intake are good for this condition with 70% significant improvement and more than 90% effective rate. It is different  from other treatment in that  not only it has no side effect but also improve general health at the same time.

Infertility: Acupuncture and herbs can adjust the female*s hormone and promote egg development and release. Therefore, both are effective  for female*s infertility even for those who have no egg release as confirmed by clinical studies. . These treatments cam also improve sperm development, increase the number of normal sperm and decrease the percentage of the dead ones.  Therefore, these treatments are also good for male infertility.

Paralysis:  acupuncture and herbs promote the recovery of  paralysis caused by either stroke, polio, or spinal cord injuries.

Stop smoking and abstinence: Acupuncture and herbs can help with the withdrawal syndrome by restoring the balance of Yin and yang. More importantly, acupuncture can increase the level of Morphine like peptides which is very effective for stopping the withdrawal syndromes.

( 4 ) Eye problems:

Myopia ( nearsightedness ) : For early stage myopia, no matter in kids or adults,

acupuncture and  herbs can  restore the normal vision without wearing glasses or changing the shape of the corneas.  middle stage and developing myopia( about 每3to 每5 D )  acupuncture and herbs can significantly improve vision( for example, from 20/40 to 20/20 ) without changing glasses or the shape of the corneas.. If the patient is wearing a 每4.0 D  but his vision is getting worse and worse to 20/40, That means his myopia has been progressed and the current glasses is not strong enough to correct the defocus on his retina . Normally he need  stronger lenses like

每4.5 D  to see 20/20 again. After acupuncture and herb treatment  he can see 20/20 with the same - 4.0 D lenses or  even 每 3.75 D lenses. Such a result indicates that the amount of the patient myopia is reduced due to the relaxation of the cilliary muscles, which is a key factor for stopping the progress of myopia and  also for further reduction of myopia. Similar results were obtained in this clinic for myopes at various degrees from 每2.0 D to 每11 D.

Acupuncture and  herb treatment is good for  myopia at all stages. Even  high myopia with retinal degeneration , macular hemorrhage or macular degeneration  still can be benefited from this treatment. Also, it is good for mopes before vision correction either by lenses or by surgeries.  Elimination of the amount of the myopia caused by cilliary muscle spasm  before vision correction can avoid overcorrection , which can accelerate myopia progress.  This treatment is also important after the vision correction procedures since it can help keep the good vision by preventing the myopia from progression.

Cataract:  Herb and  Acupuncture  treatment is good for cataract especially at the  early or middle stages when the lens is not completely  or densely opaque and the vision is about 20/40,

In such cases the vision improvement  can be expected at close to 100% rate, 20/20 or better vision at more than 80%. The lens opaque can be partially absorbed at the same time. The average time to reach such a result is 1-3 months. For more sever cataract where the vision is about 20/60 or worse there is also  a very good chance  to get significant vision improvement but it would be harder or take longer time  to reach normal vision.

Amblyopia ( lazy eye ):
If a kid has a low vision and after wearing corrective lenses for his/her farsightedness or nearsightedness, if any, the vision does not improve to normal level, we call this condition  amblyopia. Amblyopia is one of the important cause of visual loss in our population, affecting 2-4 of every 100 people and representing the most frequent reason for impaired vision in children and young adults. Chinese herbs, acupressure and meridian point stimulation therapy is very effective (the effective rate is more than 90%) if the treatment starts  before age 6.

Color blindness or color weakness is generally referred to difficulty  distinguishing  between certain colors. This kind of color deficiencies is almost always hereditary. It affects one in 12 boys, but only one in 200 girls. According to a report, this condition can be treated by acupuncture and herbs with a 80% significant improvement rate.

Age 每 related  Macula degeneration: generally, people believe that there is no medicine for this eye problem, but Chinese herbs and acupuncture can help improve vision at 50% rate, and slow down the progression for others.
